COSCO SHIPPING Lines adjusts MAF1
(Mediterranean and West Africa) Service

COSCO SHIPPING Lines CO., LTD is pleased to inform its customers of the product adjustment of MAF1 service. The new MAF1 service between Mediterranean and West Africa will start from August 17th, 2017 at Vado, Italy. COSCO SHIPPING will operate in collaboration with MSC and Messina.

This service will call all major West Mediterranean ports. Meanwhile, COSCO SHIPPING Lines will leverage the major hubs of Algeicas, Valencia to offer comprehensive coverage at North West Europe, Black Sea and Adriatic, North Africa, South America. In addtion, the service also covers the major West Africa ports Dakar, Lome, Apapa, Tincan(Five star*), Tema, Takaradi and Abidjan with short delivery time.

The new MAF1 service will be comprised of 6 x 2,500 TEU vessels operating on fixed weekly rotation, as follows: Vado – Genoa – Castellon – Valencia - Algeciras – Dakar – Lome – Apapa - Tincan(Five star*) – Tema – Takaradi (Bi-weekly call) – Abidjan – Algeciras – Vado。

With this adjustment, COSCO SHIPPING Lines will be able to enlarge its market competitiveness in Africa, and significantly enhance the connections between Mediterranean and West Africa. COSCO SHIPPING will definitely optimize its service level and provide more diversified services to our customers.

Dear Customers,

On July 9,2017,COSCO SHIPPING Holdings Co. Ltd. (“COSCO SHIPPING Holdings”), a majority owned subsidiary of China COSCO SHIPPING Corporation Ltd., Shanghai International Port (Group) Co., Ltd (“SIPG”)and Orient Overseas (International) Limited (“OOIL”) jointly announced that COSCO SHIPPING Holdings and SIPG have made a pre-conditional voluntary general offer (“Offer”) to all shareholders of OOIL. CSCL ARCTIC OCEAN – wejście na terminal DCT 17 maja 2017

17 maja 2017 do portu Gdańsk na terminal DCT, zawinął jeden z największych statków oceanicznych świata CSCL Arctic Ocean. Statek pływa w barwach czwartego na świecie pod względem tonażu armatora kontenerowego - COSCO Shipping Lines.

Zawinięcie giganta związane jest z rozpoczęciem działalności największego aliansu armatorów kontenerowych The Ocean Alliance oferującego m.in. bezpośrednie, szybkie połączenie Portu Gdańsk z Portami Dalekiego Wschodu tj: Shanghai, Xiamen, Yantian, Singapore. Statek zawinie w Europie również do portów Felixstowe, Wilhelmshaven i Rotterdam. Serwis ten będzie obsługiwany przez 11 statków, w tym 5 siostrzanych jednostek armatora COSCO: CSCL GLOBE, CSCL Pacific Ocean, CSCL Indian Ocean, CSCL Atlantic Ocean i CSCL Arctic Ocean.

Zbudowany w 2015 roku CSCL Arctic Ocean ma 399,67 metra długości i 58,6 metra szerokości, dla porównania Pałac Kultury i Nauki w Warszawie ma 237 metrów wysokości. Zanurzenie statku to 15,9 metra.

Najważniejszym jednak faktem jest to, że statek ten może pomieścić 18 982 TEU ( czyli. Kontenerów dwudziestostopowych ) co stawia go wraz z siostrzanymi statkami w ścisłej światowej czołówce statków jeśli chodzi o możliwości załadunkowe. Długość kontenerów, które może pomieścić CSCL Arctic Ocean ustawionych jeden za drugim, można porównać do długości trasy między Warszawą a Łodzią, bądź trzynastu wysokości Mount Everest. W dniu 27.04.2017 roku odbył się koktajl Cosco Shipping Lines (Poland) z okazji wprowadzenia nowych serwisów oceanicznych w ramach aliansu The Ocean Alliance, a zwłaszcza serwisu bezpośredniego do Gdańska.
